Health & happiness comes from strength
Our approach to strength building uses high intensity interval training (HIIT) with shorter durations and lighter weights. With our workouts, you will build strength without the traditional “exercise until failure” style most are used to doing.
Which program is best? The Push-Up Test.
AFA has three programs that meet 2 times per week for 6 weeks at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center.
Please note: Our classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the start time for classes is promptly during our three sessions – 5:45 AM, 9:45 AM, and 4:15 PM.
No matter what your capabilities are, we have a program that can help you progress in your fitness journey. If you’re new to our program, we start everyone out with The Push-Up Test.
What is the Push-Up Test?
Simply stated, it means how many push-ups you can do in 30 seconds. Why do we choose this method of evaluation? Push-ups are a good sign of overall strength. Your strength determines how much work you should do in a session to provide maximum benefit with little wasted time. Our goal is to do more with less.
Class Info & Reserve a Spot
We have multiple start times for our 6 week sessions to choose from – 5:45 AM, 9:45 AM, and 4:15 PM. Click on the “Reserve Spot” button that best matches the style of class you want to attend. On the first day of the program, we will assess your physical capabilities, and repeat the process midway through and at the end to assure that the program is effective for you. We test your ability to do push-ups, bodyweight squats, inchworms, marching in place, and plank.
