Cancer Recovery Program
An online cancer recovery
program tailored to you!
Cancer recovery is a difficult process that involves many treatment providers while undergoing therapy. However, what happens when the treatment plan is “finished?”
We understand that people need help even after they have completed their therapy. That is why we developed Healthy Fitness Gateway as a way for you to bridge the gap between intensive care to everyday life. We are here to provide a plan of attack to get you mentally, physically, and nutritionally ready to live life after treatment, and even during it.
What you'll get from our program:
+ Self-directed online fitness program that will teach you workout routines, and keep you challenged throughout the process
+ One-on-one online interactions with a trainer to help you customize your plan, assess your fitness progress, and make recommendations as needed
+ Introduction into mindfulness and how the practice will increase overall health
+ On-site group classes at a care provider (only at participating treatment providers, please ask your physician if they are a HFG partner)
+ 24/7 Access to a library of training videos
+ Nutritional guidelines & sample meal plans to keep you progressing in health!
+ Availability to increase the number of private sessions with a trainer to ramp up your path to wellness
What are people saying about our program:
I'm planning on running a 4.7 mile race this fall and I actually lift weights and run several times each week now. That would NEVER be happening without this program!

Health & happiness comes from strength
Our approach to strength building uses high intensity interval training (HIIT) with shorter durations and lighter weights. With our workouts, you will build strength without the traditional “exercise until failure” style most are used to doing.
Which program is best?
HFG has two programs that meet 2 times per week for 6 weeks at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center.
Please note: Our classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the start time for classes is promptly during our two sessions – 5:45 AM and 9:45 AM.
No matter what your capabilities are, we have a program that can help you progress in your fitness journey. If you’re new to our program, we start everyone out with The Push-Up Test.
What is the Push-Up Test?
Simply stated, it means how many push-ups you can do in 30 seconds. Why do we choose this method of evaluation? Push-ups are a good sign of overall strength. Your strength determines how much work you should do in a session to provide maximum benefit with little wasted time. Our goal is to do more with less.
Class Info & Reserve a Spot
We have two start times for our 6 week sessions to choose from – 5:45 AM and 9:45 AM. Click on the “Reserve Spot” button that best matches the style of class you want to attend. On the first day of the program, we will assess your physical capabilities, and repeat the process midway through and at the end to assure that the program is effective for you. We test your ability to do push-ups, bodyweight squats, inchworms, marching in place, and plank.
